The detail everyone should know before reading any genetic report
Here’s the part that doesn’t get said often enough: a “More Likely” injury-risk result does not mean an injury is coming, and a “typical” power score doesn’t mean you can’t get stronger.
ACTN3 is a good example of how these genetics actually work. Carrying the power-associated variant is genuinely linked to higher odds of reaching elite power-athlete status in research — but that’s a statement about population-level odds, not a ceiling on what any one person can achieve with training.
